THE CARTIER CUP
The U.F.C. turned back the Fencers Club 5-3 to win the Open Foil Team Competition. Setting the pace for his team, Warren Dow won all his bouts. His defeat of Robert Alessandroni in the final round was the winning tally. Miguel and Jose de Capriles each contributed one victory toward the winning score.
In the preliminary round, the N.Y.A.C. "B" team defeated the Salle Vince in a hard-fought match. In the semi-finals, the N.Y.A.C. "A" team was upset by the Fencers Club. The N.Y.A.C. looked like the best team there, and it got off to a flying start. The Fencers Club, however, aided by Cantor’s unexpected victory over Every, swept the winged-foot men off the strip in a determined stand.
