en THAT FENCING ACCIDENT

Miss Olga Bogol, who was injured in a fencing bout at the Upper Darby H.S., in Pennsylvania, was hurt not because fencing is dangerous, but because she was not properly protected. Instead of wearing a regulation jacket, she was only partially covered by a fencing pad. If we could bring to the attention of the school coaches and principals, who are not in touch with the A.F.L.A., the necessity of proper protection for fencers, we might be able to mitigate to a certain extent the effect of the recent agitation about the dangers of our sport.
