FENCERS CLUB WINS AGAIN
The Fencers Club successfully defended its Sr. Epee Team Championship by beating the University Fencers Club 5-2 in the final round.
Gustave Heiss, fencing in the best form he has shown since he temporarily retired from competition in 1934, led his team with 3 victories in the final. For the losers, Jose de Capriles was easily the best, his fencing being both spectacular and accurate. Tracy Jaeckel and Max Kapner also showed a marked improvement. The former apparently has regained his normal stride and has a much better command of his point, while the latter’s remises in opposition were beautifully executed.
