SALLE SANTELLI GIVES A CARNIVAL
The Salle Santelli held a carnival in honor of its first season as an active club. It was a grand party. An elaborate floor show included three fencing matches and one lesson, dancing exhibitions, and a magician’s performance.
Eunice Hurd did a soft-shoe dance, and then Señora Martin, the famous Spanish Dancer, gave a short dance recital which left everyone calling for encores. Julian Bush, a famous prestidigitator from Columbia, kept them all guessing with sleight-of-hand tricks and wound up the evening’s floor show with an astounding card trick that is still being discussed.
Dancing, drinks, and eats were the order of the evening, and several prize-games such as sticking the glove against the wall provided the entertainment.
