SAN FRANCISCO OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS
De Forest Rodecape, of the Olympic Club, won both the San Francisco Open Foil and Sabre championships held in the auditorium of the Emporium on June 10th and 14th respectively.
Rodecape lost only one bout in the sabre, and that to his club mate Harry Mortimer, 5-4. Leo Gadd, of the Funke Fencing Academy, tied Mortimer for second and won on the fence-off.
In the foil, Rodecape had a little more trouble and was forced to win in a fence-off with Harry Mortimer and Sibley S. Morrill of the Funke Fencing Academy. Mortimer placed second by virtue of his victory over Morrill.
