FROM SAN FRANCISCO
The three-weapon competition for men and the foil competition for women comprising the last in the series of San Francisco Open Tournaments, were held in the auditorium of the Emporium on June 27. These tournaments were open to all amateurs including non-members of the A. F. L. A.
Because of the large number of entries, the three-weapon contest was not completed, and will be continued on July 18 at the Funke Fencing Academy.
In the women’s open, Mrs. Gerda Funke of the Funke Fencing Academy was undefeated. Miss Elizabeth Doyle, winner of the Bay Division Junior Foil last season was second; and Miss Beverly Price, team-mate of Mrs. Funke, was third.
