MISS PETCHESKY WINS VAN BUSKIRK PREP
A record entry of 17 in the girls' prep marked the opening of the women's 1936-37 fencing season. Miss Beryl Petchesky, of N.Y.U., took first place by winning 7 of her 8 bouts in the final round. Normally, there is only one prize in this tournament but the unexpected turn-out which forced the girls to fence for almost four hours induced Mrs. Van Buskirk to reward the place winners, Miss Elizabeth Bruskin and Miss Diana Kass of Brooklyn College, with second and third place medals. The other finalists were Miss Janet Lewis (Queens Fencers Club), Miss Jeanette Diesbourg (Turn Verein), Miss Loretta Murray (Hunter), Miss Elizabeth Clymer (Fencers Club), Miss Ruth Greenberg (Brooklyn College), and Miss Clara Ziliotto (Hunter).MISS PETCHESKY WINS VAN BUSKIRK PREP
