MISS ALESSANDRONI WINS OPEN MEET
Miss Carol Alessandroni, of the Fencers Club, won the women's open invitation foil tournament held at the Salle d'Armes Vince.
Thirty-eight girls entered the tournament, and the entries included every outstanding fencer in the Metropolitan district. The only absentee of national rank was Mrs. de Tuscan.
The long competition finally boiled down to a final of six. Miss Alessandroni, displaying an excellent choice of time, made a clean sweep of her five bouts. Her brilliant performance included victories over Misses Lloyd and Locke by 5–4 and 5–3 scores respectively. Miss Lloyd placed second with four victories, and Miss Locke third with three wins. Miss Cerra, Miss Cochrane and Miss Stewart followed in that order.
