en M. DE CAPRILES WINS SR. SABRE MEET

Miguel A. de Capriles, flushed with his success in Budapest this summer, and determined that all should see it was not a “fluke,” came out on top at the end of a 7-man round-robin at the Salle Vince.

This was the first senior event of the year and also the first time that the tournament has been held. Originally it was supposed to be limited to men of senior ranking in sabre, but the Board of Governors agreed to permit any junior who made the first ten in the national ranking to participate. “Chips” Cantor was the only one who could avail himself of this ruling.

Every one on the National ranking list was entered with the exception of Bruder and Adams. Snow, another ranking man, is apparently still in Europe.

M. de Capriles, having finished the round with six wins and no losses, was saved the necessity of entering a four-way tie when Lubert defeated Dr. Axel and J. de Capriles defeated Armitage and Huffman. Armitage, Huffman and Axel were tied for second place, and finished in that order on the count of touches. The other entries were: J. de Capriles, M. Muray, S. T. Stewart, P. Lubert, and I. Cantor, and they placed in that order.
