en WASHINGTON FENCERS CLUB REVIVED

The old Washington Fencers Club which boasted such fencers as Col. Henry Breckenridge, Dr. Scott D. Breckenridge, Col. Honeycutt, to mention a few, and the well-known and liked M. Darieluat as fencing master, is at last being revived with the hope toward permanence. At the start of the century the club played an important part in the life of Washington, but due to the transient status of its members it existed scarcely a decade. From time to time the club has been revived only to die again. This time, however, every effort is being made to make the club a permanent institution.

Col. Edwin Emerson, through his untiring efforts, has made this revival possible.

The president of the club is Ambassador Colon Eloy Alfaro; the vice-president and captain of the fencing floor is Col. Edwin Emerson; the treasurer, Mr. David Moore; the secretary, Mr. Joseph Ulmer. There is also an executive committee consisting of the following: Major W.E. Blount, Commander Broadbent, Captain Connor, F.L. Browne, Major Dyer, David Moore, Joseph Ulmer and Mr. B.N. Morris as a member emeritus.

The present Maître d’Armes is Prof. Clovis Daladier.
