JOSE DE CAPRILES WINS SENIOR EPEE
Jose R. de Capriles, of the Salle Santelli, won a three-way fence-off for first place in the first senior epee meet of this season. Warren A. Dow placed second, and Miguel de Capriles came third.
The meet was a disappointment in both the quantity and quality of fencing. Only six senior epee men appeared. Tommy Sands and Tracy Jaeckel, winner and runner-up of the national championship last season, did not fence.
The electrical machine was used, and the end of the regular round-robin saw Dow and the two de Capriles brothers tied with four wins each. They had beaten each other.
