The Hofstra College fencing teams have been having an impressive season thus far. The men's varsity team has met and defeated Wagner College, the Columbia University J.V., and the Queens Fencers Club. It lost its first match of the season to the strong St. Johns varsity team. The Hofstra Freshmen, none of whom ever fenced before this season, have scored impressive victories over the N.Y.U. and C.C.N.Y. Freshman teams, as well as against the Queens Fencers Club. Their only setback has been at the hands of the more seasoned Saltus Club "B" team.

The women's division of the Hofstra College has been busy tuning up for their second appearance in the Intercollegiate Championships. The varsity team thus far has been able to turn back St. Joseph's 5-4 and the Queens Fencers Club 8-1. Miss Helena Mroczkowska was undefeated in both matches. The freshman team, the first in Hofstra history, lost its opening match with St. Joseph's freshman 5-4. Miss Ruth Maxwell, of Hofstra, scored three victories and Miss Arline Straus accounted for one.
