A new club has been formed in the Philadelphia Division consisting largely of recent High School graduates, principally from Northeast High School. The new organization is called the Philadelphia Rapier Club, and it has elected a former Sword Club member, Arthur MacArthur, as its first president. The members have taken part in all Divisional competitions this year, and have taken a large share of the medals.

The Sword Club met the Haverford College varsity in a 'practice' match, and the veterans proved that they were not yet ready to be shelved. The Sword Club won by 16-6. Dividing the sabre at 2-2, they then proceeded to win the foil 8-1 and the epee 6-3. Bob Agew was the bright star of the meet, winning 3 foil and 2 epee bouts, while Philip Shakespeare was undefeated in his three foil bouts. The meet was directed by Mr. Roland Fleer, former Harvard fencer, and 1932 Philadelphia Champion in foil and epee.

The newly formed Philadelphia Rapier Club met and defeated the Ambassador Sword Club in a match earlier this month.
