SALLE SANTELLI WINS EPEE CUP
Scores 49½ points against strong field
The Salle Santelli "A" team, composed of the two de Capriles brothers and Ted Gold, led a field of 21 teams to win the annual Washington's Birthday Epee Team Competition.
Yale University, who entered four strong teams, took second place honors when its "A" team scored 44½ victories, 5 points behind the leaders. The Salle Santelli "B" combination was a close third and Columbia trailed them by one bout. There was considerable margin between these four teams and the rest of the field.
The competition, held at the Fencers Club, lasted over six hours despite the fact that the bouts were fenced for one touch.
