Tir sur Silhouettes Électriques The article describes the invention and function of an electric target system for shooting sports. Popularized since 1894 by the Société le Pistolet, the system was recently installed by M. Gastinne-Renette to provide instant feedback to shooters. Invented by Captain Chevallier and engineered by Cadet of Péronne, it was initially created for military shooting tests. The system features metal targets, a multi-wire cable, and an indicator board powered by an electric battery. When a bullet strikes the target, a mechanism triggers a signal, displaying the hit zone on the indicator board. A specialized screw system inside a contact box controls the electric current, activating visual and sound signals. After each shot, the system automatically resets for continued use. This innovation allows for more precise shooting by giving immediate feedback on shot accuracy. -
